diy trick or treat door banner

Happy Sunday Friends!  With Halloween coming up at the end of the week, I've partnered with Jo-Ann to share a quick, last-minute diy project to dress up your front door!
I picked up all the supplies I needed for this project from Jo-Ann, and the total cost came to less than $30 for this cute decoration.

Wooden Letters spelling "Trick" and "Treat"
A wooden basketball (any circle would work)
Acrylics Paints (Purple, Green, Black, Orange and Sparkly Silver)
Black, Shimmery Ribbon
From there, I just painted each letter a different color or pattern.  I used some tape to make stripes and a lipstick to trace polka dots.  This would be a fun project for little ones to help with!
For the word "or", I painted the basketball purple and traced the letters on using a stencil I had at home.
Once all my letters dried, I hot glued my letters on to the ribbon.
To attach to the door, we simply stuck the ribbon to the top using a flat-topped thumbtack, and taped to the bottom of the door.
Along with the pumpkins we carved last night, our porch is simple and ready for friday night's trick-or-treaters.
Have you made any DIY projects for halloween?  If so, share along with Jo-Ann and other people using #DIY4Halloween!  You can check out this and other projects on the Jo-Ann Halloween Sharing Hub.

    1. Thanks for the note! I decided to leave the blogging world for now. We have a baby due early June and with my full time job it felt right to step back.
