a wedding weekend

This past weekend, we had the privilege of hopping in our car and driving to Muskogee, OK to celebrate Matthew's cousin's wedding. We both took Friday off, so Thursday night we drove to Salina, KS and stayed overnight.  The drive is about 11 hours, so it was nice to have the night to rest before finishing up the remaining 5 hours on Friday morning.
We stayed with Matthew's Grandmother and met up with the rest of the family that evening for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. There was a ton of family there that I had never met before and it was so wonderful to get to know them.  Plus, Matt's brother and his family came up from Austin for the weekend, so it was great to spend time with them as well!

The wedding was held at Greenleaf State Park, and it was beautiful.
Matthew played his guitar for the ceremony music.  He's such a stud. :)
And of course, the best part was seeing Grant & Jennifer glowing throughout the whole ceremony.  They are such a great couple, and it was so wonderful to be there for the start of their marriage.
While pictures were being taken, we made our way inside for the reception, which was really gorgeous. The decorations were simple, with a bit of rustic flair.
One of my favorite parts was definitely the cake topper.  This was handmade by Grant and Jennifer's sister-in-law, who is Matthew and my cousin-in-law (is that a thing?).

She makes all kinds of adorable peg people and sells them in her Etsy shop, Wooden Leg Named Smith.  Go check them out, they're adorable!!
One of my favorite parts of the night was getting these group pictures! We got all of the first cousins:
 Then, with their ladies:
Then with everyone's kids...19 of us altogether (two of the babies had already gone to sleep!).
On Sunday, we were able to meet up with the other side of Matthew's family.  Everyone was coming into town to get together since it's rare that we're all in the same state at once. We met up at Ihop for breakfast with everyone, but had to have some jumping-on-the-bed-fun beforehand!
And, of course I forced everyone to take more family pictures!
Love this little family!
And here we all are at IHop.  They reserved a whole back section for us, which was probably a wise choice.
It was so wonderful to see everyone again, and meet so many people on this trip! We had a great time, and are so happy for Grant and Jennifer! Congratulations, you two!!
