Day 3 was our last day in the city and we filled it to the brim until our flight that evening. We slept in until about 8:30-9ish, and headed straight for the Empire State Building. The lines were not terrible, and it was so worth the time and money.
Mom and I came up with a great system for pictures: we would spot a couple trying to take a self portrait of them both and offer to take a picture. Everytime, they would always say yes and then offer to do the same for us!
To the East.
To the South.
To the West.
To the North.
After the Empire State building (we were there for less than 2 hours), we walked to the Library. This building was absolutely amazing!
The Reading Room.
As we made our way through the city, we saw the Chysler building, and St. Patrick's cathedral.
I just had to take this picture because even when you're in this amazing church surrounded by all this history and intricate detail, you have the digital clock and hand sanitizer.
We had lunch at Bill's Burgers and Bar, which was excellent. It was also fairly priced ($9 burger), and we got in right away! After our meal, we made our way back to Times Square. This picture didn't turn out very well, but I still had to get one at the LOVE art!
Around 5pm, we made our way back to the hotel to pick up our luggage. We took the subway to the AirTrain to the airport, which was the best! It was only $7.50 total/per person, and took less than an hour to get to JFK. I highly recommend this!
We had a great trip, and I'm so thankful I got to spend 3 wonderful days with my Mom. It feels good to cross something of your bucket list!
P.S. Due to an estimated 24-30 miles of walking we did in three days, and my poor choices of footwear, my feet are still recovering. They blew up pretty big and got even bigger on the plane.
